Week Thirteen

Grandma and Grandpa Anderson Visit

Iris just loves it when Grandma and Grandpa Anderson come over. Just look at her scream - screams of love.

Grandpa had an idea... okay, I'll take and hold her... and.......................whoahhh!!!!! she's a little phsycho baby!

So grandpa gives her back to mommy. Iris can stand like a champion. Look at those sturdy stumps. She's putting her arms out like a bald eagle. I think I've been watching too much Stephen Colbert.

Auntie Krista decided to give it a try. Little did she know that Buster had other ideas. He's come to protect her.

Krista wins the war and gets Iris all to herself. Look how much she loves it when Auntie Krista gives her a kiss.

Daddy told Iris he would only love her if she decided to dress like Yoda... she scooted into her nursery and grabbed her Halloween outfit. Wow, it looks so natural.

Aaron had enough of her outfit, so he decided to hold her and make her cry. Little Uncle Aaron - wow, she's really screaming.

Later that week, Iris went to the bachelor and bachelorette party of Erin and Dusty. Erin got a chancel to give her a hold. Iris was in the mood to pose. What a ham.

Look at the crowd. They were partying like Iris.

Iris decided to go big pimpin'. Mommy was sad to have to go to work - But aint nothin but a g-thing to little I-dog.

Then little Iris got home and poor Mommy was sad to have to go to work again. Iris has been Going Green today.

That's all for now.

Week Twelve

Fun with Mommy and Daddy

Well, as time goes by Iris just gets happier and happier to spend time with her daddy.

Daddy caves in, pulls out the wife beater and gives little Iris her bottle. She sure is an eater. We'll have to start her on Jenny Craig soon. She's gained almost 5 pound already!

See, just look at that bloated face. Wearing a Love shirt isn't going to solve the problem Iris. You've got to watch what you eat.

Ahhhh!!! That's what daddy gets for being ridiculous. Iris goes after her favorite treat - Daddy's nose.

Mommy steps in to the rescue, Not. This is later. Iris went to her grunge/hippy outfit. She's got some watery eyes, but mommy knows just what to say to cheer her up.

But Iris revolts. Do not whisper at me earthling. My giant headbrain is coming to destroy the entire human race with rayguns shooting out of my eyeballs.

That's all for now.

Week Eleven

It seems like little Iris is getting a lot of swing time lately. I think the music is growing on her.

So daddy took a second to pinch little Iris's cheek. Oops, looks like she might not like it as much as he thought she would.

Iris is a pretty good sport though. See how quickly she recovered from Daddy's child abuse. What a champ.

That's all for now.

Week Nine

This week we got to take Iris to her first chain restaurant, Carabas near Southport for her Great Aunt Kim's birthday. Here we are with Jon, Belle, Allison, Dan, Kim, Julie, and Mommy... Daddy is busy taking the picture.

Later in the week Mommy and Daddy decided to host a poker night. Erin just loves babies, especially Iris. Just look at Iris scream for joy! I think this is towards the middle of Iris's constant screaming phase.

Uncle Andy has some better luck. Look at Iris chekcing herself out. If she could only see her old man bald hair in back. The poor thing squirms so much in her sleep that she's rubbed all her hair off in back. Maybe someday it will grow out like Uncle Andy's. He's got a nice mop.

That's all for now.

Week Eight

It's been a while since we got a good picture of Iris on the web. Here we got little Iris all dressed up in her white dress that Granny Linda got her - for church. Poor Iris hates going into her car seat. She looks like she might oink!

Well...maybe things aren't that bad after all. I think she remembers that at church she gets to go to her favorite place - the cry room. Oooo, she loves to cry and scream. Maybe it will turn out to be a great day.

Church was just what the doctor ordered. I think she's had enough of the car seat. Just to be safe, let's go ahead and put her in the swing. This hasn't been a very glamorous week for poor little Iris, but I think she made the best dressed list.

That's all for now.

Week Five

Things were starting to get a little easier by this week. Iris was still having trouble sleeping and peeing a lot, but the weight issue was a thing of the past. You can tell she's starting to change a little bit. Her hair is lighter and so is her skin. She looks cute in her little "going green" onesie. Why so chill Iris?

That's all for now.

Week Four

We really started to try and go out more with Iris as the days passed. She was gaining weight really well, still peeing a lot and having trouble sleeping - which means we were too.

Here's a cute picture of her getting a bath from mommy in the kitchen sink. She's a really good bather. She doesn't cry or fuss - just her normal amount of squirming.

This week we went to meet the Anderson family at Bravo with Aunt Gee. This was the first time she got to meet Iris. It was a nice dinner and we had a lot of fun. Iris did really well going out. Here is a picture of Uncle Aaron holding her at the restaurant.

Here is a picture of her with Aunt Gee. Josh loves this picture.

Here is another picture of Iris with Aunt Krista. You can just tell they're going to be good friends.

That's all for now.

Week Three

Nothing changed that much from week two to week three. Iris started gaining more weight, which was going a little slowly at first. She was still having trouble sleeping. She was also starting to pee a lot. Here's a picture of her hanging out with daddy on the bed - this is Mommy's favorite picture.

That's all for now.

Week Two

Week two went pretty well. Iris didn't sleep all that much, but we had a lot of help from family and with people from Redeemer (our church) bringing us meals. Everyone was so good to us. Here's a picture of Iris sleeping, which during this week wasn't that often.

Later in the week we went over to Grandpa Jim and Grandma Julie's and hung out on the deck.

Here's little Iris sleeping in Daddy's arms.

Can't hold her too long. Look how squirmy she gets.

Uncle Rick was visiting for the week. He gets to meet Iris for the first time. She looks pretty cozy.

That's all for now.

Our Sixth Day

Here is Ross holding Iris. He looks like such a trustworthy uncle in this picture. We think he'll be a good dad (wink!). Just look at that - a natural.

Later in the day we took a trip to Grandma Morgan's House. Here is a picture of Aunt Jessica with Iris with Grandma's Venetian tapestry in the background.

Here is a picture of Jennifer and Josh giving her a little pep talk. She's all smiles.

Grandma got to hold her too. Grandma has been so excited about Iris and she finally gets to spend time with her.

Great Grandma got a chance to spend some time with Iris. That makes five generations. One is a week old and one is 99 years old.

That's all for now.

Our Fifth Day

Early in the day we got a visit from our friends Dave and Sarah. Here's a picture of Sarah holding Iris. She loves babies.

Our first trip to the Savage House today. Uncle Ross and Aunt Jessica were in town. Look at them looking on. They're going to be great Aunt and Uncles.

Jessica held Iris for a little while out on the deck. It was a really nice day out. Iris had her little pirate onesie on (it says "Arrgh... wipe me booty."). She looks so funky.

Aunt Becky held her too. She got passed around the table quite a bit.

Mom is having a good time. Little Iris is sleeping with her mouth wide open.

Later on, Grandma Rabb got to hold Iris. Here she is with Jimmy in the kitchen.

The cookout was really good and everyone had a good time - even Iris.

That's all for now.

Our Third Day - Going Home

This was the big day. It was a little scary to think we were already going home on our own. It seemed like we just had Iris. In the morning we put on her little mittens because she was accidentally scratching her face with her sharp little fingernails. What a cutie pie.

We think Iris was scared to go home too. She seems to be pouting a little bit about leaving her new nurse and doctor friends.

Once we got her home, she got to meet Aunt Becky for the first time. Iris seems to match women in pink shirts pretty well. We like this picture.

Aunt Krista didn't get to see little Iris in the hospital but she fell in love with her at our house. Look how cute Krista looks holding a baby. They're gonna make good friends. She'll be Iris's funky, cool Aunt.

That's all for now.
