The New House: Before

Here is our new house. These pictures are from August, so the place already looks pretty different. We are still not living here yet, but move in day is getting closer!

Decorative front over porch. This is what is under the vinyl siding. One day we'll expose the rest of the original siding.

Office/front room.

Living room and dining room. View from the living room.

Bedroom, facing out.

Bedroom, facing in. That closet is gone now.

Kitchen: this is one of the biggest changes. We have phase one of a brand spankin' new Ikea kitchen being installed now.

Kitchen: different view. The door on the right is to the back deck and the door on the left is the bathroom.

Bathroom: completely gutted and started from scratch. We have a bathtub and tile, but no toilet or vanity at the moment.

Bathroom entry: the window is the only thing remaining from this shot.

The back yard. This will be Phase 623. We still have a lot of projects on our list.

The bamboo forest next door.

On the Move

In case you haven't heard... we are down to one house! We closed on our old house last Wednesday. There is someone new keeping house on Leland. We will miss the little bungalow, but are excited to have a fresh start at our new place!

Our new home is still getting the finishing touches. Josh is working hard to get the bathroom and kitchen livable. In the meantime we are hunkering down at the Savage Homestead. Iris, Jennifer, and Buster are enjoying quality time with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Paula. Josh stops by every so often to sleep and eat. If you see him, offer food and message... he's a busy guy!

Keep on the lookout of pictures of the new house!

Catching Up

So.... we haven't really been keeping up here, have we? Let's get caught up!

1. We are moving! Staying in Indy, moving closer to downtown. Right now the house is in a bit of disarray, pictures forthcoming.

2. We are having a baby! It's a surprise, so this baby is being referred to as Squirt. Squirt is due March 7.

3. Iris is officially a toddler, 16 months old as of Sunday, November 29th! She is walking, talking, and doing all the things a toddler should. We can't believe what a big girl she is!

Sure, more has happened in the past year or so, but that covers the REALLY BIG stuff. We can catch up more later!

Week Fifteen

Iris gets all warmed up to go out for the day. She's wearing the cap that Emily made for her.

She also likes to wear her jammies. This is one of her favorites. Its really soft.

Iris, have you put on some pounds? Or are you storing food in your face like a squirrel?

Iris has been looking out the window all week at the plants in the backyard as the turn into bright autumnal colors.

Later in the week, Iris went to Uncle Andy's so Daddy could work on skate park. Little did he know that all of the work he did this weekend would be for nothing. Sometimes being a designer sucks. Iris could sense it and got all worked up. They had to take her clothes off so she could cool down, she was so mad.

Iris got ready to go home. Look at her squirming around in her blanket cover.

Uncle Andy got to see her again. This time they got to watch some more Colts action. Its so much fun.

And, as usual, Iris gets really happy when she gets to go in her carseat and blanket cover. Look, even her smaller dimple is showing!

That's all for now.

Week Fourteen

Iris had fun this week going over to Dusty and Erin's house to hand out candy. She gets to be Yoda again. YAY!

Erin had some fun with Iris. They got to be friends while the other friends played Guitar Hero. I am Iwon Man... na na... na na ... na na na... na... na na.

Great Scott! The turbo flux capacitor!!!

Iris had one more dress up day this week. She decided to play mommy and put her scrubs on. We went over to Uncle Andy's to hang out and watch some football.

Iris can hog the couch sometimes. Look how much room she takes up.

Not only that, she hogs the remote. Iris, what's gotten into you?

Uncle Andy has to teach her a lesson about how to share. Don't look at me Iris, you got yourself into this situation.

Oh, look at that little worried face. (Notice the slobber all over the shirt). She was really blubbering today.

Nothing a little finger can't fix. There's nothing like an ice cold finger after a long day. That's all for now.

Week Thirteen: Part Two

Iris had a busy week. We got her dressed up in her IU garb so that we could go out on the town.

The red brings out her red hair and face - look how it matches mommy's!

Later that night, we put on her warm jammies and took her over to the Rader's house for their big pitch-in dinner. Almost everyone from church was there... well, maybe not quite that many.

Iris was real hungry during the "soup" dinner and mom had to spend a bunch of time feeding her, but people were nice and came in to talk to her and Iris.

Dad even popped in a couple times to lend a hand... but he snuck out a lot.

It was a lot of work for little Iris. Just look how tired she was. Sound asleep.

That's all for now.
